Replacing a light bulb sounds simple. But what if there are thousands of light fixtures scattered throughout Amsterdam? The City of Amsterdam is working on the “electrification” of its public lighting system. This will reduce energy consumption, minimize outages, and make the lighting system future-proof. At PSI, we’re helping the City of Amsterdam achieve its goal.
Overpasses in Amsterdam
Thousands of overpasses in Amsterdam are being renovated and prepared for the coming decades. What begins as a lighting replacement project turns out to be a complex chain of inspections, facade work, permits, contracts, and implementation. With an integrated approach and a smart batch model, PSI helps make that complexity manageable. In this way, we look beyond the individual project and work together on a solution that works in practice.
Network Congestion at Flevopark
Amsterdam is working on an electrical grid that is ready to meet tomorrow’s growing energy demand. In Flevopark, researchers are investigating how new connections can be built with minimal impact on the surrounding area. PSI brings together technical considerations, environmental factors, and diverse interests from the very beginning. Environmental management is used to build support and demonstrably improve the project.
Construction and Maintenance of Playgrounds in Utrecht
Utrecht wants to renovate more playgrounds and sports facilities and maintain them in a way that ensures their long-term viability. PSI helped the municipality look beyond existing framework agreements and organize the work more efficiently. By treating contracting, coordination, and implementation as a single, integrated process from the outset, the city gains greater control and can carry out renovations more quickly. In this way, smart contracting decisions ultimately contribute to creating spaces where the city’s residents can play sports, have fun, and come together.
