General Medical Care

Mission

For Vilans, Scripta Video developed a proprietary campaign format focused on general medical care (MGZ), which combines real-life case studies with professional expertise. In two videos—one focusing on elder care and one on care for people with disabilities—experts such as general practitioners and geriatric specialists observe a familiar situation unfold and respond based on their own areas of expertise.

From a daughter struggling with the growing burden of caring for her parents to a seemingly innocent card game that suddenly escalates: the films bring complex care issues to life and make them open for discussion. In this way, the campaign highlights the need for collaboration around vulnerable older adults and people with disabilities—exactly what Vilans’ MGZ program focuses on.

Case Study Video #1

MGZ Care for People with Disabilities

When Jasmijn, who has autism and an intellectual disability, steps on a piece of broken glass at her residential facility, it becomes clear how difficult it is to arrange appropriate medical care on the weekend. The caregiver on duty cannot leave the facility, and the on-call doctor’s office cannot come to her, so her parents are ultimately called in.

The video shows that a triage nurse and a mobile nursing team can assess and resolve many of these types of medical issues in a timely manner. By organizing existing expertise in disability care more effectively and collaborating more closely with primary care providers, appropriate care can be made available more quickly, and the burden on family caregivers can be eased.

Case Study Video #2

MGZ Elderly Care

A daughter cares for her frail parents, who live at home and both have multiple health issues, and finds that she must maintain a comprehensive overview and take charge of their care. When her mother’s health deteriorates, it becomes clear just how fragmented the care is and how difficult it is to bring together the right expertise in a timely manner.

The video emphasizes the importance of early involvement by, among others, the primary care physician, geriatric specialists, community care providers, and social services. A dedicated core team and effective multidisciplinary collaboration can ensure greater control, appropriate care in the right setting, and less strain on family caregivers.
