Walking for Change

Synopsis

In the Netherlands, where everything seems to be well organized, people with physical disabilities are unnecessarily restricted. Not because of their disabilities, but because of political decisions and insufficient support from health insurers.

Anyone who wants to work, play sports, and live like everyone else needs at least three leg prostheses. Yet health insurance covers only one, which is usually not waterproof and cannot be used for sports. That’s not equal opportunity—and that has to change.
